Women in Fishing

One of nine live on-air encounters of women from both sides of the Zambezi/ Lake Kariba; with Monica Siabunkululu aka DJ Mo and Claudia Wegener/ radio continental drift in the Zongwe FM studio.
In this show we are introducing Zubo Trust's Bbindawuko Coop, the first women crew fishing Kapenta on Lake Kariba. Abbigal Muleya, Zubo's former Monitoring Officer tells the story of Zubo's flagship project.
In the second part of the show (second track), we are visiting Zubo's fish-farming project with the Tuligwasye Women at Sebungwe River Mouth. In recent recordings from May this year, we hear Mugande, project officer at Zubo talking about the project and the group. The Chairlady of the Tuligwasye women gives a statement in ChiTonga.
In the third part of the show , we are listening to a track of DJ Kwe's "Radio Remixes Voices of Binga", which transforms the story of the Bbindawuko Coop into danceable teachings for us.

In August, 2016 radio continental drift has been partnering with ZongweFM, training five young presenters in audio recording, interview techniques, oral history methods, archiving, audio editing and playlist development for live on-air shows. Together with the two women in the Zongwe staff team, Patience Kabuku and Monica Siabunkululu, we developed 9 live on-air radio shows in which we are presenting project recordings from Zubo's women in Binga and recordings with Sinazongwe women clubs.
Zongwe FM is a community radio station in Sinazongwe, Southern Province of Zambia.
Zubo Trust is a women's organization bringing women together for self-empowerment.
